Our team provided medical equipment planning services for UF Health Shands Hospital Specialty Surgical Tower in Gainesville, Florida.
To accommodate anticipated growth in several areas, UF Health officials built a new specialty tower offering state-of-the-art care to patients with neurologic, neurosurgical, heart, or vascular conditions. The new tower included approximately 18 operating rooms designed within an integrated platform to leverage common core support elements such as central supply and anesthesia support for neuro and cardiac hybrid rooms, and trauma and general operating rooms. The new specialty tower included nearly 240 beds, acute and intensive care beds, as well as ambulatory neuro/cardiac assessment and diagnostics, prep and recovery, and pharmacy and pathology areas.
Our team led visioning sessions for physicians and administrators and collaborated with clinicians and facility planners to assess the best strategies for interventional MRI among other major hybrid rooms. We also provided final equipment layouts, including the coordination of site-specific equipment vendor layouts, for completion of construction documents and provided procurement and installation management assistance to support the owner’s internal FFE management team.
