DPR Austin Office at the Foundry
The Introba (formerly Integral Group) design team provided DPR’s Austin office with a next-generation, energy-efficient space reflective of its operational approach and culture.
The goal of the office fit-out is for the space to produce as much energy as it consumes and improve health and human experience through design.
The team achieved a 37.09% water use reduction below the baseline by installing low-flow fixtures for kitchens and lavatories. A rooftop photovoltaic array offsets energy costs by 100%. Additional sustainable features include an efficient VRF system and efficient lighting. Floor-to-ceiling windows and prominently placed skylights create a continuous connection to the outdoors with unfiltered daylight.
The office layout is an open floor plan with no private offices, underlining DPR’s flat organizational structure and team-of-teams culture. Instead, the office uses strategically placed operable walls to transform the training room, kitchen and bar areas, gaming corridor, and outdoor terrace into a large, all-hands venue or event space.
The DPR Austin office occupies the third floor of The Foundry, a new mixed-use development on Austin’s East Side. DPR is both the contractor and tenant of the building.
