Brisbane Metro Bus Depot
The Brisbane Metro Bus Depot is a new 10-hectare site that provides dedicated charging facilities, maintenance workshops, bus wash and administration buildings for up to 100 all-electric metro vehicles.
Our engineering team has designed the building services, including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, fire protection, ICT and security, to serve Brisbane's new electric Metro bus network.
The systems were integrated into the incoming electrical infrastructure with redundant n+1 11kV feeders to achieve operational resilience and reliability requirements. A distributed 1MW photovoltaic system is installed across the site and integrated into the microgrid controller. Installing local electric vehicle charging units will support the broader fleet vehicle requirements.
The focus on sustainability across the entire metro system is estimated to save 50.000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions over 20 years, and grow Brisbane’s public transport network, connecting the city and the suburbs while helping address congestion bottlenecks.
