The design of this new state-of-the-art university supercomputer center encompassed office spaces and a data center, where super-dense electrical loads can exceed 300 watts per ft².

In the data center, Introba (formerly Integral Group) designed a unique, remotely located, low-energy air handling system that easily adapts to hot spots and unusually high spot loads. Other design features include a three-foot raised floor and the use of 55°F chilled water, which avoids unnecessary dehumidification. In the office spaces, Introba designed an innovative displacement ventilation system that significantly reduces the volume of air that requires cooling. This project improves the building’s energy efficiency by over 52% more than California’s strict Title 24 Energy Efficiency Standards.
