The first phase of development for this civic center project includes an Aquatic Center and a Senior and Community Center.
The Aquatic Center will consist of a 50-meter pool, an instructional pool, and a dedicated recreational pool with a slide. The Elk Grove Community and Senior Center will include a Veteran’s Hall and a public café.
Introba (formerly Integral Group) provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design services for the two buildings. Both buildings will have all-electric variable refrigerant flow (VRF) heating and cooling with airside energy recovery. VRF is a cost-effective and low-maintenance way to transfer heat efficiently between spaces, reducing the energy required to condition the buildings. The buildings’ hot water systems are also electric and use air-source heat pumps for reduced energy consumption. This all-electric HVAC system will allow the Elk Grove Civic Center buildings to offset all their energy use with solar power.
