Fords-Theatre

The renovation of the historic Ford’s Theater campus began in 2007 when the 144-year-old buildings were closed to the public.

The complete renovation included the main theater and support spaces, a museum in the basement re-imagined, and the 517, Back L, and Star Saloon buildings that are immediately adjacent to and connected with the original theater.

Administered by the National Park Service, the project featured many interior upgrades to enhance the visitor experience and comply with Americans with Disabilities Act regulations.

Introba (formerly Integral Group) was responsible for the design of the new mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. The electrical distribution system was designed to support the upgraded theater lighting and sound system. Introba was also the commissioning agent for the project and completed full start-up and functional performance testing for the new heating and cooling, lighting, domestic hot water, and building automation systems.
