2015 Pan Am Games Venues

Introba (formerly Integral Group) provided LEED Fundamental & Enhanced commissioning services for several sports venues as part of the 2015 Pan Am Games.

The team delivered the project through a  Public-Private Partnership (PPP) by Bouygues Building Canada.

Hamilton Soccer Stadium: The 22,500-seat stadium (with expansion capability to 40,000 seats) hosted a football/soccer competition for the 2015 Pan Am Games and became a permanent home for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Targeting LEED-NC Silver certification, Hamilton’s soccer stadium was redeveloped into a state-of-the-art, multi-use sport and entertainment venue with the flexibility to accommodate professional and amateur sports and a range of community, national, and international events.

York University Athletics Stadium: Located at York University in Toronto, the 3,000 fixed-seat stadium hosted athletic competitions during the games. Following the games, the stadium provided students, faculty, and the community with a much-needed recreation, training, and competition facility. The athletics stadium targeted LEED-NC Silver certification.

Milton Velodrome: The 1,500-seat velodrome hosted the track cycling competition during the games. It was designed to meet all of the technical requirements of the Union Cyclist International (UCI), including a 250-meter indoor wooden track. It Targeted LEED-NC Silver certification, with expansion capability to 2,500 seats. The velodrome also includes an infield area that can support other recreational activities such as basketball or volleyball following the Games.

The design and construction of the stadia and velodrome strove to incorporate sustainable development practices such as:

  • Reduced greenhouse gas emissions

  • Waste diversion and recycling

  • Efficient use of energy, water, and other resources.
