Introba provided mechanical, electrical, fire engineering and sustainability services for the new community facility in Woolgoolga.
The Wiigulga Sports Complex is a transformative, multi-purpose sports and community hub located in Woolgoolga, bringing new life to a previously undeveloped area. The $28.8 million facility caters to a wide range of sports, including AFL, cricket, rugby, soccer, and touch football. It features two multi-sport indoor courts, outdoor fields with lighting and drainage, and a versatile performance stage.
The main building includes a café, commercial kitchen, flexible changerooms, and multipurpose rooms like the Sangeet rooms, which can host private gatherings, yoga, dance, and meetings. The centrepiece is the expansive sports hall, designed for indoor activities like basketball, volleyball, badminton, futsal, and pickleball. The hall has LED video screens, accessible changing facilities, and a sensory room, accommodating over 1,000 people in performance mode.
Outside, the complex offers junior and senior-sized multi-sport fields, a bike pump track, inclusive playground, cricket nets, shared pathways, and car parking. The building design reflects local Indigenous heritage and the multicultural mix of the Northern Beaches, creating a space that fosters connection and celebrates the community’s diversity.
