St. Mary’s + St. Peter’s School

As the fourth incarnation of the school in its 176 years of service to the Teddington community, our work at St. Mary’s and St. Peter’s increased the school size from 2-form entry to 3-form entry.

Despite this increased size, the team maximized students’ learning experience personalization through individual and group workspace development and classroom remodeling. The design also maximizes information technology through enhanced infrastructure.

At St. Mary’s and St. Peter’s, Introba (formerly Elementa Consulting) delivered all mechanical, electrical, and public health design, full BREEAM Education assessment, and dynamic thermal modeling.

The design took a largely natural, passive approach to the building services, targeting a BREEAM Excellent rating. Monodraft passive ventilation systems were installed to satisfy school buildings’ ventilation requirements. The design utilizes air source heat pumps and high-efficiency gas condensing boilers. The existing radiators have been reutilized to minimize costs, with the current underfloor heating being served and new underfloor heating within the school extension by a new energy center. This is located away from the school building and houses all plants supplying the school.
