City of Boston Police Department Radio System Upgrade

The City of Boston is upgrading its current analog UHF radio system to a digital P25 system. Currently, they operate over forty radio sites for land mobile communications. The sites are utilized by Boston PD, Boston FD, and Boston EMS. The sites are of varying ages and conditions. 

We are assisting in design reviews, site upgrade designs for electrical, HVAC, R56 grounding, and antenna systems. Our team is also working with the City on the design of a new microwave interconnect backbone with redundant capabilities. In addition to design efforts, we will help with the acceptance testing of the subsystems that make up this new P25 network as well as providing FCC regulatory support.
