CaGBC National Energy Benchmarking Framework Whitepaper

Introba (formerly Integral Group) has been working alongside CaGBC, consulting stakeholders, and developing a white paper as the first steps toward creating a National Energy Benchmarking Framework.

The Framework focused on consistency, effectiveness, transparency, and capacity building will provide a means to simplify and streamline government policy implementation and support the pursuit of strategic investments in building improvements and energy and greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) targets.

Benchmarking and reporting as a first step toward large-scale energy efficiency improvements.
The Framework intends to support local governments in developing programs that encourage or require building owners to benchmark and report annually on their energy use and GHG emissions.
A consistent framework across Canada will make it easier for building owners and managers to benchmark their buildings across jurisdictions.
