Introba provided technology and security services for the Broward County Convention Center.

Introba (formerly Ross & Baruzzini) is providing low voltage and security systems engineering services for the 550,000-square-foot expansion to the existing 600,000-square-foot convention center serving Broward County. In addition, the scope includes the Central Utility Plant, Parking Facility Modifications, and 18th Street Modifications to facilitate the expansion. Systems engineered include:

  • Telecommunications Infrastructure

  • Audio-Visual systems

  • Digital signage design

  • Wi‐Fi

  • Distributed Antenna System (DAS) Local Area Network (LAN) design

  • Access control system

  • Site-wide video system

  • Security operations center

  • IT infrastructure

Services entail the development of Low Voltage Systems & Security Program and related Assessments including working with the design team to develop the systems and security program for each project element with an approach to the overall convention center campus and supporting facilities.

The design focus will ensure that aesthetics are not altered, while at the same time providing functionality and performance to visitors and employees. The approach to security includes the site, the vehicle, and pedestrian access points; consideration for clearing or screening both; allowing a tiered approach of perimeter security policies; and keeping the visitor experience as a prime consideration. Specific entries and exits, for anticipated venues and mission requirements, will be studied and reviewed with the appropriate stakeholders. A detailed security program report addresses all the above and provides recommendations that will influence all other design disciplines with the security elements to be considered for each trade.
