Engineering With Heart: Building Community Connections in Rwanda
In celebration of International Women in Engineering Day's theme, "Enhanced by Engineering," we’re honored to share the story of five exceptional female engineers from Introba, TYLin, and Dar who embarked on a mission to bring hope and opportunity to a community in Rwanda.
Meet Myriam, Alekhya, Mary Anne, Dahria, and Nikolette – each with unique skills and experiences – who united with our Bridges to Prosperity team to not only construct a bridge but to forge connections and empower a community with a pathway to a brighter future. Facing challenges head-on, their collaborative spirit and diverse talents in planning, problem-solving, and leadership dismantled stereotypes and inspired a new generation of female engineers. Their story is a testament to the power of inclusivity and women’s vital role in shaping a brighter future.
The experience of these women engineers in Rwanda highlights the profound impact that engineering can have on society, extending far beyond infrastructure. Their example is a catalyst, encouraging more females to pursue careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields and contribute their talents to creating a more equitable and sustainable world. In our Q&A session, they share their experience and unique perspectives.
